I own a '97 silhouette that had a similar problem. The first time this occurred it was the intake manifold gasket. About two years later the problem arose again, only this time it was the head gasket. These cars are notorious for these gasket problems. Worse yet is the fact that if the car runs hot you have a very good chance of warping the heads. At $1500 to repair, my silhouette is done and headed for the scrap yard.
Good luck-
that is not a question
The gauge does not cause the heat; it only shows what it is.
Because of convection: heat rises and cold sinks
Heat from the Earth rises to the surface because heat rises. Heat rises because it is energy and the atoms are looking for more space to move freely in.
ripples occur above something when heat rises because those are called heat waves.
heat rises. less mass i think
