Why will the manual top on my 91 capri not fold all the way into compartment?

Probably because you didn't push the front hoop back as you were lowering the top.

As far as I know there are no Chilton,Haynes, or other aftermarket manuals. Factory manuals are usually available on ebay. There are 2 to my knowledge: Factory service manual, and EVTM, or electrical and vacuum troubleshooting manual. Much of the factory workshop manual can be downloaded from www.techcapri.com The only difference between the 1991 Capri & the 1992-1993 Capri was a change in the radio/stereo options. For all practical purposes, a 1992 or 1993 shop manual & the 1992 or 1993 EVTM manual would suffice as repair/maintenance guides. 1992-1993 manuals are easier to find & unlike the 1991 loose leaf shop manual, they are bound.

above your head when you are in the seat is a bar,originally it had elastic pulls on it but these wear out quickly,to get your top to fold down properly you need to push that bar back(towards trunk/boot)when folding top down and it all should go into place ,hope this helps,i ruined a perfect top before i found this out!

Easiest thing would be to check your owner's manual. It's all explained in there. But the short answer is: Drop the glove box compartment by detaching the cable stop. Drop the box down as low as it will go and you will expose the compartment for the cabin air filter which is located behind the glove box compartment.

The engine compartment fuse box is located on the driver side of the engine compartment. The lid has the label for all of the fuses there, and one of the large square ones should be labeled ABS.
