We have answers to a lot of questions. There are any number of reasons a given question may not have been answered yet:

It may be a difficult question because it requires specialized technical knowledge (Example: "How is the Henderson-Hasselbalch equation derived?"), and no one with that knowledge has seen it yet.

If may be because no one would just know the answer off the top of their head, meaning answering it would require a lot of research. (Example: "What are all the cities in the United States and what are the names of their mayors?") Remember: volunteers. Unless it's particularly interesting, it's not likely someone is going to spend several hours working on the answer to a question if they're not getting paid for it.

The question might be about something that we, as a matter of policy, don't answer even if we do know the answer. (Examples: "What is Justin Bieber's cell phone number?" (personal information questions), "How do I make methamphetamine?" (illegal acts how-to questions), "Why does Steve Nobodyfamous smell so bad?" (cyberbullying).)
