because the PS2 is not meant to play DVDs it says it is but really...the DVDs are MUCH too hard on the laser for it to be handled frequently so when your PS2 stops playing DVDs STOP trying,..youre on the verge of ruining the PS2 for good! what this guy is saying is a load of kcrap the PS2 is made to play dvds as much as you want it is not hard on the laser at all

they do but they will not play any new dvds that came out a year after the play station was made because the DVD dater has been changed and the play station will not be able to play any new dvds but it can still play all the old ones.
