Dash lights and tailights are generally on the same circuit; Did you check the fuse? You may have a blown fuse. If it blows again there may be a bad tailight bulb that is causing this problem. Good luck.
To remove the back seat of a 1998 Toyota Corolla, you will need to remove the carpet to expose the bolts for the seat. Then, loosen the bolts by removing the nuts. You can then remove the seat.
I Don't know yet but I was thinking about doing this on my Corolla as I need to get windsurf gear into the car, and have removed the backseat on several other cars in the past for same reason. Will let you know when I have figured it out.
6.5 or 6.75 will work, 6x9 wont unless you modify the back with cutting and customizing the grills. 6.75 are a perfect fit

When you have the belt put back on correctly it will be back in time.
If the VSC flashing light comes on at the same time on your Toyota Corolla, then there might be a sensor issue, and if you have a warranty, have it back to the manufacturer.
