im sure it is the cam sensor.
No.
OK Finally! My 95 Ford Probe mysteriously would not start. We then checked the resistance on the distributor, it did Not have resistance. ( My Distributor was still under warranty. After putting in a NEW Distributor, it still would NOT start. I then searched this website, and found other people had the same problem. (My husband is a mechanic and so is his best friend and they were both stumped).
Next we replaced the crankshaft sensor, and WHOOPEE it started rite up!!! Its very strange that both the Distributor and the Crankshaft Sensor both went bad at the same time?? My husband thinks it is just a coincidence, but I think the Sensor made the Distributor go bad somehow...Only God knows: ) I you.
Oh and P.S. my 95 Probe is for sale if you are interested. Its running perfect now. Has new; Brakes,Tires,Distributor,Spark Plugs, Catalytic Converter, Clutch, Re Upholstered seats, etc.....Was my son's but for discipline reasons he lost it.

How to find the reason for not starting when turning the key over on a 1993 Ford escort lx
timing is off check it
I don't own a 95 ford escort. But if I did, and the motor turned over but would not start, I'd look at either the ignition module or fuel pump first.
is the battery dead? if not check your connections and/or for corrosion
Check the crank sensor. I had a 98 cirrus that wouldn't start and that was the problem
