could be that the coil is getting hot and wont restart until it cools down.
maybe your fuel pump or a massive air flow sensor
sounds like your fuel pump is gettin hot
It may restart when it cools down or you have toasted your engine. Where is your common sence. Stop next time that happens.
Electrical circuit do not go dead but theyreliably shut down. If there is a thermal protection circuit supervising the heat dissipated that would the circuit to shut down until it cools and start again and probably repeat the cycle.

It would die and not restart. Yes it may restart! I have had modules quit when they get hot and work again when they cooled down.
Water in your sweat cools you down.
Possibly, you have a broken timing belt.
because it is an trial bike and these bikes need to be cool down after a long distance.
either your battery does not have adequate cranking amps or your starter motor needs overhauling if new battery, i would pull starter and replace
the water heater cools down.
