The main dome light control switch is turned off.
check the wiring. its probably shot
Check fuses , or bulbs in radio burn out.
Dome lights not turning off On my 1995 Ford Explorer, just to the right of the headlight switch on the dash is a vertical switch that has the word dim below it. If this switch has been turned all the way up to the top, all the courtesy lights will stay on. Just move the switch down a little bit towards the word dim and if your doors etc. are all closed your dome lights will turn off.
depending on the year the Taurus lights will either have switches on the sides, or the switch is made into dash dimmer switch. If these switches wont turn the lights off, check the doors to make sure that the door switches operate properly.
That happened to me before, there is a dimmer switch that dimms your gauge panels. you might have that swtich turned all the way up.
The headlight switch also opperates the dome light... insted of pulling it out, just turn it like a door knob... if that doesnt work then it might be a fuse, the same fuse that works stuff like the radio also works the dome light. A 2008, I would bring it back to the dealer.
wont start
The door switch can be corroded or defective. Can also be a Short in the wiring to the switch. Also on some vehicles, you can turn on the dome light with the dimmer for the instrument lights. This dimmer, if turned all the way to one side will bypass the door switch and the dome light will stay on all the time. The door switch can be corroded or defective. A door switch may be broken or out of adjustment or the dome light switch on the dash is turned on.
no....it has never happend and it wont ever......
On the same switch you use to turn on the headlights, there is a dome override button that you press and then you can play with the dash lights to make them brighter. This should turn the light off.
