depending on the year the Taurus lights will either have switches on the sides, or the switch is made into dash dimmer switch. If these switches wont turn the lights off, check the doors to make sure that the door switches operate properly.
dome light stays on ford taurus
Sounds like switch may be defective
the dimmer switch that controls your gauge lights does this. push it all the way up and if they are operational they will turn on
why does the dome lights stay on when the switch is turened off 2001 ford explorer super
If you want to turn on the interior lights rotate your gauge panel dimmer switch wheel all the way up ( it's located on your dash just to the right of your headlight switch )
Most likely the door jamp switch is bad. You will need to replace it.
Check the dome light. These cars are notorous for having a bad door switch.
The dome light and floor lights on a 94 Ford Probe will not go off if the door is open or the door sensor has not been tripped. The lights can be manually turned off but the sensor should be checked for defects.
If you need to replace your dome light switch you will need to remove the cover first. You can use your fingernails or even a small knife to get the cover off.
The sensor in the door is dirty - where the door latches. You can spray WD-40 into that area to clean it. This happened to me in a 1997 Ford Taurus.
My brake lights, dome lights and dash board lights went out at the same time. I checked the fuse under the hood of the car and I can't locate the fuse box inside the car. My questions are (1) what cloud have cause for all three(3) lights to go out at the same time and (2) where inside the car is the fuse box?
According to the Owners Manual, fuse #29. See "Related Questions" below for more - especially if your dome lights stay on and you're getting a 'door ajar' chime/warning.
