If the water is mooving through the filter and there is no pump preasure it could indicate that your filter has a hole or tear in it if you have a cartridge filter.
By no pump pressure I assume that you mean the water is not moving in the pool. A number of things can cause this.
1. A clog in the Plumbing
2. A blockage in the pumps impeller
3. Excess debris in the hair and lint strainer
4. An improperly closed valve forward of the pump
5. Low water level. You will usually experience excessive air in the returns or a surging into the skimmer along with a gurgling sound.
6. A dirty filter
7. A crack in the pump housing
you have an air leak, pump lid can be loose, cracked or the o-ring needs to be replaced. The valve in front of the pump may need serviced or if it is a Jandy 3 way that has a grease fitting, it may have broken off or needs to be lubed. Do you have a pool cleaner that works off of suction, if so check for holes for cracks in the hose. The Skimmer has weir that might be stuck in the up position or closed position. The water may be to low and the skimmer is "starving for water" fill the pool until it is half way up the skimmer opening.
Is the power turned on, is the timer turned on. is the motor in good order.
Make sure you have power at the system. If you have another pump like a cleaner see if it will turn on. If it does then you will need to have an tech or electrician come out and test for power going to the motor. Your clock may be bad, motor capacitor on motor could have gone out, wiring to the motor may have a short.
why is there a purple line around the top water line in my pool
Might be clogged, have an animal stuck in it. Try to get that checked out.
It wasn't put together properly
yes
if the motor is running but there is not pumping water; # It may need to be primed, that is there is no water around the impeller and as a result is not pumping. to get it going if that is the problem fill the pump with water if possible and make sure there is no blockage on the pool side, then start the pump sometimes it helps to turn the pump on and of while the air is being expelled. # On the other hand the impeller may be damaged blocked or no longer properly connected to the motor if there is no movement in the water at all that is probably the problem.
First of I think you may be referring to the pool filter not the pump. "Filter" runs the water thru the filter thus filtering the water. Recirculate, I believe, bypasses the filter media and sends the water back to the pool unfiltered. K
Don't worry about it unless it interferes with the pumping of the water.
I have a 10 x 30 pool but i don't seem to need a pump and filter!
So long as there is water coming through the pump when it is running it doesnt matter what the water level in the pool is.
No, the filter can not pump. It is a filter.
Heaters are usually plumbed in after the filter. The pool filter/pump is what circulates the heated water. Ans: The heater will not work or fire if the pump is not running.
A heat pump's name is a bit deceiving, it's just an appliance that heats water. You still need a normal pump and filter combination to move and filter the water.
could be , is the water level above the skimmer/s / are the skimmer baskets clean/? pump may have just lost it's prime. fill pump with water replace lid and restart.
Yes, you should run the pump when you add chemicals to your water,
Any small submersible pump should do the job. just be careful that it doesn't suction onto the pool cover while it is operating.
even though it sounds like it is pumping it may not be, try a new pump and new fuel filter
