Most routers come with a password built in.
check the documentation (Sometimes it comes with the router printed, sometimes it is a PDF on the CD that came with it), but in my experience, it is usually:
User Name: admin
Password: admin
The first thing to make sure of is that you are connecting to your own linksys router and not a neighbors. Use the direct connection set up to rename your router to something unique and make sure that is the one you are connecting to.

∙ 14y agoProbably it was already set or you are using a wrong username/password. If you can't log in you need to reset the router. There should a reset button, use it.
