Hey Dave===It is either the cable to the carb that is stickeng or if it is a 4 bbl, the secondary butterflies are hanging open. Good luckJoe hey, you may want to also check vacuum lines. i have a 89 formula that acted the same way. sometime it would be fine, other times it would idle close to 3000 and if i put it in gear it would try real hard to stall. it turned out to be a vacuum leak.
