Why would a 1987 Pontiac Sunbird not start only on days when there is heavy rain?

Get a can of WD40 and spray the inside and outside of the dist cap and all of the plug wiring and coil.

Possible the battery is just too old, or it is damaged.

The fuse probably blew that controls the dashboard lights.

No. There would be a gasket between the head and the block, though.

Blown fuse, bad temp sensor, bad ground, bad fan motor

Does it shake and stall when decellerating or at anytime? because mine seems to do that but its only when decellerating at a stop light or stop sign or whever and it dont always do it.. only after long drives. (1992 Pontiac Sunbird). It might be a bad EGR Valve.

no, losing the manual would not cause the car to use freon.

sounds like t.c.c solenoid.[torque converter clutch solenoid]

the minimum is 100 PSI. The maximum variation would be 30% between the 4 cylinders.

i believe your relay might be acting up. i would replace it r u sure u aren't stuck on delay!!?? been there, done that!! This happened on our 94 Sunbird is indeed the relay.

I'm assuming you're talking about the front fender, in which case, I'm 90% certain they are identical. The best way to be absolutely certain though, would be to grab your phone book and call a local salvage yard, they can tell you right away what's interchangeable and what's not.

Its probably also making a knocking noise on speed bumps or potholes and the alignment is probably pretty bad as well. The struts need to be replaced. Also an alignment would go hand in hand with this.I had my 91 Sunbird 2 door sedan done recently at Les Schwab for 400 and it drives like a sports car is supposed to now.

I had a 1988 Pontiac Sunbird GT with the 2.0L Turbocharged engine. I replaced the alternator every 26K mi. I believe this was due to the underhood temperatures caused by the turbo. I had the car for 123K mi. before I sold it. Still in great shape. Could be due to a short in the electrical system or a bad ground.

Check the computer that happen to me on a suzuki, the computer was burned. You can find it on a junk yard.

The scientific or taxonomic name would be Rosa'Sunbird'.

Heyy what year and what model? I have a '91 sunbird convertable that I did..if you want I can tell you what we did. and what is it you are looking for, where to hide the REM and the power? or what? How many subs? what kind of amp? and did you put and aftermarket in? I have a '90 Sunbird LE it not a convertable...... ya for sure i would like to see what you hooked up ya im just generally looking for others peoples set ups and ideas..

In the 1994 2.0L engine sunbirds, the VSS is located above the passenger's side drive axle, I would imagine the location is the same for a 3.1.

Figuring out what the cause of the problem is would be the place to start.
