One of:
1) Inability of the computer to control engine idle speed as would result from a faulty IAC or a general poor running condidion.
2) Torque converter is locked. If this only happens hot, suspect a TCC (VCC) lockup solenoid. If this happens cold also, expect a damaged torque converter.

I have a 94 buick century the speedometer doesn't work n it has a hard time shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear it makes a funky noise. would like to find out what I can do Sounds to me the speed sensor is at fault.
check solder connections on circuit board to resisters in upper right corner, 4 of them.

I have a 1995 buick centruy and I can move the gear shift lever, but cnnot get the car to move in drive. I have checked the fluid level and it is okay. Is there a cable that is loose or out of adjustment ?
1st - I would Ask Myself am i parking on a Incline..??? Am I pressing the Brake Pedal Before Shifting into Gear..??? Check Your Brake / Transmission Shift Interlock Setting..!!!
the bulb goes out in the gear and mileage display, and its no problem i went to the junk yard and thourgh on right in mine and it works great
Its held on by an internal retainer clip. I had to cut the old one off, and a new one slipped right on
The transmission is not shifting in and out of gear or your front joint is going bad
