if it is not consistent IE not JUST the #4 cylinder, I would look at the distributor (button, rotor, etc), Ignition coil and the wire connecting them
Also, check the fuel injection, if there isn't enough fuel to drive the cylinder it just sits there (this is also a common reason people fail their e-checks). If the check engine light is on it should kick out a 200 code for the above problem.
If the code is just a 300, I would start checking the distributor and wires as said before, and of course make sure the plugs aren't cracked. If none of that helps, it is time to take the head off and check the seals around the offending cylinder. I hope that is helpful to you! -Katrina
It means that more than one cylinder has a misfire history. PO301 would be cylinder number 1 misfire. PO302 would be number 3 cylinder misfire.
P0303 is cylinder #3 misfire. P0300 would be random misfire. Either way you need to diagnose the case of a misfire. Check spark plugs, plug wires(if equipped), cylinder compression, fuel inectors, and wiring.
Trouble code P0300 means: Multiple Cylinder Misfire Trouble code P0302 means: Cylinder 2 Misfire Detected Trouble code P0303 means: Cylinder 3 Misfire Detected I would change plugs and wires
Misfire due to spark plugs, wires, internal engine, stuck injector, etc. Basically anything that would cause extra fuel in the cylinder or anything that would prevent the fuel from burning.
It could.
A p-0300 indicates a random misfire of a cylinder. Possible loose plug lead, fouled plug or similar electrical problem . -Get a professional diagnosis.
That would be that there isn't enough gas getting to them
Check the air filter.
Possibly a sticky valve. Check each spark plug in turn. The plug or plugs which are on the affected cylinder will be a different colour than the others.
No. It would affect all cylinders equally, unless you've got a V engine with dual exhausts, two O2 sensors and possibly two separate FI computers,
That would be an engine cylinder misfire , but either more than one or it can't determine which engine cylinder is misfiring
It would be a bad wire or plug
