Why would a 1999 Astro Van show a code reflecting a problem with the catalytic converter after it has been replaced?

99 astroif you are testing with a cheap tester like auto zone has it more then likely is giving multiple choices like bank 1 2 or 3 with a b c in each one .i have a 99 astro that was miss firing . after replaceing many parts , the code was still showing converter as a possibility my mechanic friend kept on telling me it was the injectors.i replaced them after trying everything else.runs great now no misses no ses light on.i am not sure of the part num but gm has an intector conversion kit that replaces the poppet style ones.i have it in my van
