i just had my Lincoln LS v8 fixed that had the problem where when it got cold it took forever to start it and you had to pump the crap out of it. it was a fuel relay in the front fuse case. something real simple. my mechanic hit it right on.
Yes

Neutral switch?
I have had the same problem and it was a crank sensor. The truck would be fine and then all of a sudden it would die, and it would start back up no problem.
It is on because there is a problem with the emissions system. Have the ECU scanned with an OBD2 scan tool. The code it retrieves will tell you where to start looking for the problem.
I would start by replacing the spark plugs and plug wires. If that does not fix the problem seek professional help.
