Why would a newly installed car stereo have power but not have any sound even if the factory model still produces sound on a 95 Nissan 240SX?

The car most likely has a built in amp that does not get powered up when you install an aftermarket receiver. Try hooking the blue wire from the car to the blue wire on the receiver harness, usually marked power antena. This sometimes powers the amp. Otherwise if you purchased a wiring harness for your install there's likely a 800# you can call on the pkg. and they can tell you how it's done......good luck

I had the same problem with my stereo and I didn't think it could be a wiring issue because i thought i did it all right but it happen to be a wiring. Try disconnecting all the speaker wires and connecting each speaker separately and seeing if it works because that's how I discovered that one of my speakers don't work because of that none of the speakers would play sound. I could also be your ground....
