I always replace the battery when replacing a alternator. They seem to fail hand in hand. Next check the battery cables and alternator connections. Also check to make sure the belt is tight enough. If it is slipping then the alternator wont be charging the batttery correctly. It has to be one of these things. Good luck.
Had that problem when still under warranty on my 02 when all lights would momentarily flicker, including the head lights, and the dealer replaced my alternator. There was a service bulletin put out on that problem. Also just recently, my lights would dim and I found a broken ground wire on the left front side on my engine block after checking all ground connections. Good luck.
Some Ford models had a external voltage regulator. If yours does, replace it.
Sounds like a bad alternator. The alternator runs the accessories as well as the charging of the battery, whereas the battery is resposible for start up. If you had to charge your battery that also means that alternator wasn't doing it's job and needs to be replaced. Its not a big deal to swap it out.
alternator needs to be replaced. battery also might be a problem due to the alternator not charging it
On a 1999 GEO Tracker, a bad fuse can cause the headlights and dash lights to blink. A bad voltage regulator or alternator can also cause lights to blink and flicker.
If your lights are flickering on your 98 Bravada, you might have a shortage. It can also indicate that your alternator is failing.
You can if you plan to convert all of your electrical system, starter, lights, gauges and accessories to 24 also. And change your battery to 2 batteries connected in series. Why would you want to??
Loose alternator drive belt or loose or corroded battery cables. The battery itself may also be bad.
Not enough power to starter, jump it and then ensure alternator is good. Also check battery condition.
chances are it's the voltage regulatorit could also be a wire no connected on the alternator
If the light remains on then the system still isn't charging as it should. Check the plug on the alternator and also that the wires to the alt have a good connection.
