Why would an 89 caprice classic shoot out a puff of smoke when you first start it up after it sits like overnight but doesnt smoke after that?

Classic signs of worn oil seals in the cylinder head. Oil leaks into the bores overnight, after the initial burnoff the exhaust runs clear.
