If someone is taking the vicoden and suboxone together than that makes no sense at all. Suboxone blocks the effects of the vicoden so if you take a vicoden and then take a suboxone too soon it will put you in withdrawal and get you very sick. On the flip side if you take a suboxone and then a vicoden too soon then you will feel nothing because the suboxone will block your opiate receptors in your brain from allowing the vicodin to bind to them and thus get you high. As for cold tablets I would imagine someone might be taking them for the pseudoephedrine in them. Check the labeling to see if that is one of the ingredients in their particular cold tablet, because that drug is a main ingredient in the cooking of crystal meth and has some effect on you if its taken in high dosages. However it really shouldn't get you high when not cooked and processed into crystal meth. So that's a weird one. Sounds like this person is a kid and not well versed on their drugs to be honest. Not knocking anybody, but just be smart and do all the research you can before taking something new and especially before combining things. As a former opiate addict I can tell you that no drug use is smart, but there are certainly safer smarter ways of going about getting that high and knowledge is the number one precaution everyone should take.

How do you keep from getting addicted to Suboxone?

It's very easy: YOU DON'T TAKE IT! Suboxone is for the treatment of opiate addiction. Suboxone is itself an opiate, but it doesn't get you high, so you can quit getting high without suffering painful withdrawal symptoms. For example, a heroin addict who wants to quit getting high can start taking Suboxone instead of heroin. The Suboxone will feed the heroin addict's physical need for opiates, without getting him high. In essence, the heroin addict trades in his heroin addiction for a Suboxone addiction. He takes Suboxone, and now he is addicted to Suboxone, instead of heroin. So, anyone who is using Suboxone the way it is meant to be used (for opiate addiction) is already addicted to opiates. He is addicted to the opiate heroin, and, as soon as he starts taking the Suboxone, he will be addicted to the Suboxone. So, if you are asking how to take Suboxone without getting addicted to it, then you obviously are not an opiate addict. You are obviously asking because you want to use it recreationally. Which is illegal.Furthermore, Suboxone is a very poor choice for a recreational drug. If it does cause a high for recreational users, I can't imagine that it would be a good high, since it is specifically designed not to get you high. Suboxone is made up of buprenorphine (the active ingredient) and naloxone, which is a partial opiate antagonist -- it blocks the opiate receptors in your brain, so you can't get an opiate high. The drug Subutex is just plain burprenorphine, without the naloxone. Since Subutex lacks the opiate blocker, it is possible to get some sort of high off of it. But again, I can't imagine that it would be a good high, like heroin or morphine or oxycodone.

How long after taking a suboxone can you take an oxy and have its normal effects?

I can answer this question from personal experience. I'm a struggling recovering opiate addict and am now prescribed to Suboxone. I'm prescribed 4mg in the morning and 4mg in the early evening, so 8mg a day. I know that if I wait for 24 hours after taking my last dose of Suboxone I can feel about 60%-70% of the oxy. If I continue to do them, the amount that I am able to feel it goes up. After the third day of being off my Suboxone I can finally feel the oxy 100%.

Is there a limit for taking Suboxone tablets or can someone take as much as he needs to not feel sick?

I believe the normal maintenance dose is two 8/2mg tablets which is 16 mg. if this dose does not help to decrease the sickness taking more will not either. I am a nurse and not a doctor, so you may want to seek answers from the doctor who has prescribed it for you.
