One of 2 things are probably wrong. One is that there are 2 sensors on either side of the door, usually about 8 inches from floor, they are either not aimed correctly at each other or there is something blocking the view of each other. They are designed to reset the door to orignal position when started to keep from harming something.
Another thing that can cause this is the force adjustment needs to be increased on the opener.
