Why would the AC on a 2000 Chevy Silverado work but not the heater?

1) Check your fluid levels on your coolant. Refill as necessary, did this fix it? If not proceed to step 2.
2) Is it only blowing cold air? If yes, its possible you need a new thermostat.
Also check the controls! they may not be changing!
