Taking your foot off the brake pedal...?
The brake lights are a separate circuit from the other lights. Check the fuses and bulbs. If fuses and bulbs are okay I would suspect the brake light switch is at fault.
Check the switch on the brake pedal
brake switch ???
Most likely no brake lights would be due to a faulty switch on the brake pedal or a bad fuse.
That's because your car is equipped with a light sensor that works in that way; after a few seconds the lights will go off. Any more questions?, please feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Blown fuse or bad brake light switch?
brake light switch would be most common cause
The BOO (Brake On/Off) Switch may need to be replaced. If it is bad, it would cause the brake lights to NOT illuminate when the brake pedal is applied.
check the fuse for the brake lights, they have thier own. also check the brake light switch at the at the top of the brake petal
Brake light switch stuck or out of adjustment. It is either located on the brake pedal somewhere or it may be a pressure switch located on or near the master cylinder.
BAD BRAKE LIGHT SWITCH AT TOP OF BRAKE PEDAL
The most likely cause is a bad brake light switch (if none of the brake lights illuminate) but if its only one of the brake lights, try changing the bulb. Even if they still work as running or turn lights because they have a double filament and may still work partially, but not as brake lights.
The bulb is burnt out. If the problem was a fuse, then all brake lights and probably the dashboard lights would be out as well.
Possible ground issue at the taillights.
Those tail lights could be the brake lights you are seeing and that would be a faulty brake light switch or the brake light switch is out of adjustment.
There may be a cut in the wire(s). You will need a Digital Volt Meter to test the wire(s) at your brake light. There is a switch that is actuated when you apply pressure to the brake pedal. If the switch is malfunctioning your lights won't come on.
The bulbs are burnt out.
it seizes thru lack of use... overhall it..
check the brake light switch that is on top of your brake pedal under the dash, could be out of adjustment or bad.
If you mean the brake lights are stuck on, then check the stoplight switch located on the top of the brake pedal.
it would be the brake light switch about 20 dollars at autozone
Tail lights and brake lights fuse.
