there should be a button on your dash next to the scroll type dimmer switch that activates the dome lights....that switch is a (either or type) switch that allows you to either have the dome light come on when you open the doors or not to come on.....Look in your owners manual

Why is your lights staying on when your keys are out?

It could be two things your switch for the lights is still turned on or your lights are on a timer and shut off after a twenty second or so delay.

On a 2000 Buick LeSabre when you park the car the lights on the front door panels for the windows and door locks stay on why and run the battery down what makes them stay on?

There is a courtesy light time delay control next to the dashlight dimmer switch. Set the delay switch to off or minimum to turn off all lights when you lock the doors. Having the delay switch on will sometimes cause the battery to "dump" the charge leaving you with a dead battery after a short time.

What would cause the wiper delay not to work the switch has been replaced in the column?

The delay system may not have anything to do with the switch. It depends on the manufacturer but the delay system maybe part of the wiper motor assembly...or the delay is sometimes located in a separate module located separately from the control switch.

Why are the parking lights still on even after the key is out of the ignition on a 2006 subaru legacy?

Some vehicle makes have a delay or timer on the parking lights, allowing the driver and its occupants to exit the vehicle and, say, enter their place of residence. They should shut off within 15 to 30 seconds, depending on the installed delay. On my '96 Outback Wagon there's a rocker switch on top of the steering column, just forward of the steering wheel. It is marked with a "P" - if it is switched ON, a red color bar shows toward the driver. Try switching it to the other position, parking lights should be OFF. I think there's a separate switch because on the Outback, the lights controlled by the regular steering column switch go on and off with the ignition. I know of other cars that have a similar switch there for the hazard flashers, but on the Outback, it's the parking light switch. ;-)

What would cause a delay in your headlights coming on after you start your car?

Probably the headlight switch is defective. When the car warms up, the metal contacts will expand, causing them to again make contact and turn lights on.
