Try looking for a blown fuse.
Shoukld be the fuse for parking/tail, and dash lights
Usually the lights will be always on the only way to turn them off manually is when you engage the parking brake, if you need them off during the day time you can pull up the parking brake to the first notch and it shouldn't affect the brake at all. That's how I do it on my 98 jetta at least
the dimmer switch is going out if you are experencing that.
I just had a similar problem on my 2003 jetta. They replaced the bulbs and it turns out to be a faulty break light switch as well. Make sure to get it checked ASAP otherwise your shifter could get stuck in park.
if you mean WHERE are the 2007 jetta warning lights.. they are on the dash board... near the air conditioning vent. just push the red triangle button.
I replaced the tail lights on my friends 2001 jetta a few months ago. You do NOT remove the headlights or tail lights. The bulbs are replaced from the inside of the trunk or beneath the hood for the head lights. I don't have much time to get into details but just take a good look and you'll realize what you have to do. Real simple procedure! Good luck.
Daytime running lights
I made a video on how to change the head lights in my jetta This is for a 2006 jetta tdi, but other years apply http://www.truezombielife.com/2006-jetta-head-light-replacement/

I have a '03 and there is an alarm if you leave tour lights on.
you might need a new alternator. thas what happend to mine. Did any dash board lights come on and the radio start changing by itself?
THE DRIVERS DOOR LATCH NEEDS TO BE REPLACED. IT HAS A MICRO SWITCH INSIDE IT THAT SENSES WHEN THE DOOR IS OPEN OR CLOSED. THE SWITCH CANNOT BE REPLACED SEPERATLY. THIS IS A TOUGH JOB IF YOU DONT KNOW WHAT YOUR DOING.
