if the rear ac is working then you probably have a damper door that is inoperative. this is in the heater/evaporator box. so if it isn't working then you will be heating and cooling at the same time out of the heater box.

The heater would not be working on a 1990 Dodge Grand Caravan if the heater core is damaged or blocked. Hot coolant from the engine must flow through the core to allow hot air to pass into the cabin.

The blower may simply have burned out. If the blower is out then the heater probably still works.

The HeaterTreater is an after market kit that solves heater and AC for the Jeep Grand Cherokee and Laredo. It is much cheaper than the dealership fix and is easy to install. For diagnosis and info, check out www.heatertreater.net or search eBay for "heatertreater".

I believe the dash has to come out any short cuts would be to cut stuff open not too pretty

The heater blend doors have failed. It is likely that the drivers side has failed shut whilst the other side is stuck partly open.

A Jeep Cherokee is an XJ. So that would be a yes. The 1995 Grand Cherokee was a ZJ. A ZJ 4.0 will fit in a similar year XJ.A Jeep Cherokee is an XJ. So that would be a yes. The 1995 Grand Cherokee was a ZJ. A ZJ 4.0 will fit in a similar year XJ.

You have to remove the dash and HVAC housing to access the heater core. how would i do that

Either you are: a) Low on coolant (causes air pockets) b) Heater core is plugged c) Heater control head or blend door is malfunctioning

Yes and no. As long as the motor is the same, the harness should be the same.

i believe the heater core is leaking, a small pin hole leak can generate a lot of smell.
