Faulty air bag actuator is probably the cause, they use an accelerometer to measure rate of deceleration and impact.
True
When there is a sudden high-G deceleration. The passenger bags however will not fire if there is not enough weight on the passenger seat to indicate an adult is in the seat.
Disconect the electrical connecter on the seatbelt buckle under the seat. Don't disconnect the passenger seat one though as The passenger airbag (if fitted) won't deploy in an accident. The drivers airbag will always deploy.
no
On sensing a collision an airbag will deploy in an average of just 30 milliseconds.
It did in my wife's 1996 Honda Accord when she ran into the car in front of her at about 15 mph. Also, when the passenger bag deployed, it shattered the windshield on the passenger side.
It is enabled when someone of sufficient weight sits in the passenger seat. If no one is sitting there or someone less than the required weight the air bag will not deploy.
There is no minimum vehicle speed. They can go off sitting still during a collision if the 'G' loads are correct on the vehicle.
The force of the collision has to great enough
The force of the collision has to be great enough
Frontal Airbags will deploy at at least a 55 mph crash or more.
The force of the collision , with the front of your vehicle , has to be great enough for the airbags to deploy
