Resetting it is a manual process, independednt of doing the service. In fact, it can be reset without doing service. Refer to maintenance manual for how to reset. Generally has something to do with a combination of ignition key position and pressing other dash/odometer buttons. why did it throw the code in the first place ?
have vehicle scanned to determine the problem
is your service engine soon light on? check the codes with an obdII tool.
No.
Service required is the oil change reminder. Service engine soon would be the check engine light.
a 84 camaro z28 would have a v8 450 hp engine.
Reasons the service engine light does not come on: The bulb is burned out. I would suspect this first. There is a wiring problem. The engine control module is bad.
96 means it's OBDII, so a flashing check engine light means it is misfiring bad and it is threatening to melt the cats.
That is one of many possible causes.
A Service Engine light and a Check Engine light have the same purpose - to alert the driver that a malfunction has been detected by a sensor(s). It would behoove you to take your vehicle to an auto parts store (AutoZone or similar) that does free scans and have the touble code(s) retrieved to find what made the light come on. Some manufacturers call it a Check Engine light and others call it a Service Engine light, but as mentioned above they serve the same pirpose. I don't think your vehicle would have it labeled both ways.
No it will not.
Could be a wiring issue or a completely different problem.
It would take seriously expensive modification
