Dead short in either wiring or wiper motor Disconnect wiring harness to motor and install fuse--if it continue to "blow" problem in wiring to motor -- if it doesn't problem in motor
Your wiper arms that run from the wiper motor to the windshield wipers may be binding and need to be replaced
Fuse or windshield wiper motor.
I have a 99 Jeep Wrangler Sport. My wipers would somtimes work, other times not. Now they don't work at all. Checked the fuse and replaced the switch with a brand new one, still nothing. My guess, if you have the same problem, is that the wiper motor has burned out.
Had this same problem with my 97 wrangler. The motor had expired. Fuse held up but motor was bound up. It must have burnt a wire in the motor rather than a fuse. Hope this helps. Robb
Because the windshield wiper is on.
Use the same switch for the front wipers. Once the front wipers are switched on, the rear wiper will come on as well. However, a reverse twist of the switch would turn on just the rear wiper.
Normally its a fuse. Check your owner's manual to find where the fuses are and which one is related to the wipers.
Failed wiper motor, blown fuse. 2001 wiper motors were recalled and replaced due to a switch that would turn off the wipers when the wipers didn't get all the way back to the bottom of their range. That could happen when blocked by ice in the winter.
Most likely you will need to replace the wiper motor. If you can hear the motor when you turn the wipers on, then you will need to replace the wiper transmission. The wiper transmission is a link that attaches to the motor and the wiper arm. Both are located on the firewall usually under the cowl panel. (the panel between the hood and the windshield)
1. Turn on the rear windshield wipers. 2. Stop the wiper manually as it crosses the center of the window. 3. Lift the wiper blade up on the hinge as you would a front blade (this should de-activate the wiper mechanism and stop movement). 4. Change wiper blade. 5. Return blade to original position in which it was stopped. 6. Turn the wipers off then on.
If your car is equipped with rain sensing wipers and the wiper switch is in position I, the wiper will run once at tutrning on the ignition to indicate that the wipers are in rain sensing mode. this is what the documentation for my 2002 E320 says!. Thanks, Vic
the pulse module board if we are talking about the same thing controls the wipers. it shoud be located by the wiper motor or under a cover on the firewall. this is only bad if the wipers don't fuction corectly but if they don't work at all i would check for power going to the wiper motor snd if there is power i would replace the wiper moter and see ir that fixes the problem the pulse module board if we are talking about the same thing controls the wipers. it shoud be located by the wiper motor or under a cover on the firewall. this is only bad if the wipers don't fuction corectly but if they don't work at all i would check for power going to the wiper motor snd if there is power i would replace the wiper moter and see ir that fixes the problem
