Why would you have a problem switching between the low beam and high beam three weeks after changing the bulb on a 2000 Chevy Impala?

The low beam and the high beam may be two separate lights.
The low beam and high beams are two separate bulbs. The lows are bulb # 9006 and the highs are bulb # 9005. If you only replaced one the other could be blown. If that isn't the problem then the switch on the steering column could be bad or so could the wiring but it is most likely the bulb.
