If it came out of the box like that I would suspect the cap is of poor quality.
If it has a distributor, it might be the pickup inside the distributor.
There could be several things to cause no spark, but one I have ran into is the Ignition Control Module inside the distributor or the coil inside is bad. If your plug wires are good and your wiring to the distributor checks out, then it's either the coil or the ignition control module. Both are inside the distributor.
If it has one, it would be inside the distributor, so the distributor would have to be removed and rebuilt, or replaced. Check the warranty first on your vehicle.
if you have a cracked distributor cap then water would get inside it and make your car stall.
If the distributor cap is cracked it will leak and if it gets damp out it may not allow your car to start. Also, there is rotar inside the distributor and if it is worn out it will cause the current to not glow properly to the spark plug wires.
It would not ruin your in-sink erator. It would not be good for your drain, but if you only put some wood shavings in the disposal accidentally once, it would not ruin it.
A small amount of shavings is normal. That is why there is a magnet inside the pan to collect the shavings. A large amount or large pieces of metal is not normal and will require a professional to diagnosis. It it has run good and has not had shifting problems, or strange noises, then it is most likely fine. I just rebuilt my son's 4T60E transmission for that very problem. I found two sources of the metal shavings: The teeth on the reverse reaction drum (stove pipe) and the spyders for the differential in the final drive carrier were in the process of shelling out. Chuck Check to see if there is a recall on your transmission.
You would call the editors of the magizines that you choose to sell . Find number inside the first page of the magazine.
Corrosion inside the distributor cap. Get a new cap and rotor.
I'd get a magnet and remove the brass with that.
It certainly could. It would eat the gear on the cam that runs the distributor.
bad ground wire from block to frame or distributor to frame or back to alternator if so designed. 87pontiac writes Inside the distributor is the coil and sometimes the the epoxy that coats the the coil cracks and causes all kinds of headaches from starting problems to idling issues to misfire.
