check for leaks at the front calipers or the rear wheel cylinders. I have seen this before.
In addition, you may want to look under the brake fluid tank. There is a sensor under the tank that may need replacing if you see wetness there. It's about $30 for the part.
ANS 3 - Both of above are good advice - but also many Windstars leak from rear seal of Master cylinder. If this is the case you will see streaks where it fits to the booster.
In a 2000 Ford Windstar : ( DOT 3 brake fluid meeting Ford specification ESA-M6C25-A ) according to the Owner Guide
check the brake fluid level. try filling to top. Get it fixed !
out of brake fluid?
normal brake fluid
DOT ( 3 ) brake fluid
A 2000 Jeep Wrangler would use Dot 3 brake fluid. Dot 4 is also acceptable. Just do not use Dot 5, it is not compatible.
Just normal DOT3 brake fluid.
Check your Brake fluid. If the fluid is low then will make the Brake light go on. anothe thing is you might be needing new brakes soon..
For amount check the brake fluid reservoir. For amount of life left in brake fluid, use a brake fluid tester found at the automotive stores (Autozone, Advance, NAPA).
No "special" fluid required. Just buy good quality standard brake fluid.
Start with the vehicle speed sensor the feeds the speedometer and odometer. Also look at the Brake/Speedometer problem associated with the Windstar recall for a leaking brake pressure switch
Yes it does. You can check by looking at the brake fluid resevoir, it will say what type of brake fluid to use.
