Bad blower motor? Blown blower motor fuse? Bad fan switch? Bad blower resistor pack?
The compressor is coming on because you have the heater set to defrost. Take it off defrost and the compressor will not come on. I would suspect the compressor is locked up.
Check the fan sensor and relay for the Contour fan. Check the fan motor next. One of these three will most likely be the problem.
On my 1996 contour the heater would not work. I found from the dealer that under the passenger dash (kick panel) there is a relay they replaced. It is very easy to get at
Check your heater hoses, that's where the water ciruclates into the heater from the water pump.
The cooling fan at the radiator is not coming on. Running the heater take heat out of the coolant as it goes through the heater.
no indeed it doesnt have anything to do with it. you see the ac heater has diffrent conections in where the theremostat has nothing to do with if u were talking with temperature changes maybe it would.
Heater core would be the likely culprit here.
That would depend on what warning lights you are referring to. I'll need more information if I am to answer this fully.
one of two things , #1, low on antifreeze or #2 , heater core plugged up.
most likely your heater is leaking? If you mean coolant, It would be the heater core. If you actually mean water it is coming from the windshield.
Either the Heater Control Valve is not opening or the BLEND doors aren't opening BOTH could b due 2 a Vacume leak going 2 either one.OR the heater core could b blocked.
There are several things that could cause this. First I would check the radiator fan relay, then the fan switch, and the temperature sending unit, and finally the fan itself. Although there are other things that might cause this symptom, because the car is cooling when the heater is on points to a bad high/low relay where the fan is only coming on because the heater kicks the relay to hign and thus cools the car this could also happen with the AC being turned on. So I would start there. Hope this helps. Jason Stair
