Because the Main Gear in the Blend Motor has cracked and is now not turning the heat/cold door to the Cold position. 3 fixes: Buy a new Blend motor, takes about 5mins to replace. Buy a new Blend Motor Gear, will take about 30mins to fix. Repair current gear with Epoxy, takes about 30mins and 12hrs for the glue to set up strong enough to use it.

Most likely cause is a failed engine thermostat.
Sounds like it is low on coolant.
Check your thermostat. Looks like it is stuck open and needs replacing. That could be why your engine is running cold. Atleast its not stuck in the closed position.
A pressure gauge measures blow, a vacuum gauges measures suck
If the coolant level is okay, I would suspect a restricted heater core. Try flushing the heater core.
This is a quote from a popular auto repair book:"It is rare for the temperature gauge to fail,but if it is erratic in operation check the lead from the (temp. sensor) switch for broken insulation and earthing.If the gauge reads maximum,suspect the sender switch(temp. sensor)." The switch can only be tested with an ohm meter or by substitution of a new unit.I just replaced my tem. switch and it didn't fix my gauge!So...

If your coolant level is fine but your engine temperature gauge is reading on the cool side all the time , your thermostat is probably sticking open. ( or you have no thermostat , or the wrong thermostat - one that has too low of a temperature range ) Anybody else have any ideas ?
