Not all cats are good Moms, or, she may not have enough milk, or occluded nipples. Wash her nipples with a warm, damp wascloth to be sure there is no crusty or gooey stuf on her, then give her some brisk belly-rubs to encourage the milk to flow. Then put the kittens on her to nurse. If this doesn't work , you will have to bottle feed the kittens every 2-4 hours. And call the Vet as soon as possible.
A cat will stop lactating when she is no longer nursing her kittens. A cat will know when to stop her kittens from nursing when she is ready.
The momma cat should not be spayed until she has weened her kittens, at approximately 8 weeks from birth.
A Mother cat would normally stop feeding their kittens around 6-8 weeks after giving birth to them, the mother cat would stop feeding them and start to push them off because they grow teeth and bite the nipple and after a week of not feeding the nipple should dry up and when you squeeze the nipple nothing should come out thanks, llew
You can't.
If you don't feed a plant it will stop growing and be healthy. After days it will eventually die. =[
You stop feeding them when they die.
i would actually keep them in the house for now if they are kittens. Maybe try a cage. Keeping them inside will prevent them from getting hit by a car.
Kittens usually stop nursing 6-9 weeks after birth. :) then you can give them kitten food, which is usually at any pet/grocery store :) If you cant find food for kittens, just take some normal cat food, that is small, and add water to it, to make it softerr, :)
if the mother is still around and is able to give the kittens milk then dont stop her. supplement milk is no where near as good as mother's milk. it doesnt have the nutrients the kittens need to survive and keep strong. but if you have new borns which dont have a mother or the mother is unable to provide milk then as the vet for help and supplement milk is the only answer.
You can hold the kittens right after their eyes and ears are open. If you hold them to soon they might lose their mother's sent and the mother wont recognize her baby and stop feeding it.
At your local wal mart they have the supplies to feed new born kittens if the mother decides to stop feeding them. Sometimes a mother will push a kitten away if it's sick and she doesn't think it will make it. Contact your vet about the situation if it doesn't get any better.
you might need to start feeding it solids
