well this could be a number of things... cracked distributer cap? rotor wore out? cam problem? distributer gear wore out? timing chain jumpin? one of these would be my first guess
electronic spark timing is your distributor.
I`M HAVING A HARD TIME REMOVING SPARK PLUG WIRES ON MY 2002 CHEVY SILVERADO 2500 6.0. ANY TIPS?
Means, Engine missfire detected. you either have a bad distributor cap, plug wire, are spark plug. May just need a good tune-up.
The 1998 Chevrolet Silverado V-8 engine spark plug gap is .031. Most spark plugs come pre-gapped from the spark plug manufacturer.
To add, this is a 5.7 v8 engine.
no distributor or spark plug wires its a coil pack on the top of the engine.
On the 4.3L V6 the distributor is located in the back of the engine, in the middle. Just follow the spark plug wires and they will lead you to it.
The firing order for a 1994 Chevy 1500 Silverado 305 from the distributor cap to the spark plug is 1-8-4-3-6-5-7-2. To locate the number one plug, look for where the wires plug into the small square on the driver's side, two pegs clockwise from that square is the #1 spark plug.
Assuming this is the 4.3L engine, the distributor cap would be found in the back of the engine on top. All the spark plug wires lead to it.

NO it will not. You need to check the coils / coil, Plug wires, spark plugs, Distributor cap and rotor if it has one. You did not say what size the engine is that would help. You will need to scan the engine with a engine scanner more then likely to find the problem.
It is under the distributor cap. If you look at the right side of the dist. You will see 2 electrical wires that plug into the module that's under the cap.
