It does not matter if you have a manual of automatic transmission. I have been looking for a 1999 for (3) months. I can get one any day for around $1100 but I am looking for a better deal. In the process of shopping and inquiring I found that the 1999 has unique exhaust manifold and electrical connection that are so unique that it impossible to cost effectively use any other engine. Oh yes, I am afraid it is true....I'll be dipped!
The 99 have 9 bolt manifolds and the 98down have 5bolt so you may need exhaust work to get things to line back up. I think the 99s have a catalytic converter built into the manifold and maybe an air pump for emissions(just plug it)
how to take a evaorator out of a 1997 pontiac trans am

yes, all the Saturn DOHC motors are interference engines.
Can you replace your 2000 Camry CE 4-cylinder engine with a 1997 Camry engine?"
Yes, but is may require the use of the intake and exhaust manifolds from your 1997 engine. The headers to be reused will need to be milled flat by a machine shop to ensure they are flat and will seal properly. I have a 1994 SC2 running a 1998 DOHC engine from a wrecked SL2, runs like a champ, but I did have to reuse my 1994 manifolds. Good Luck
The 1997 Pontiac Trans Am 5.7 liter engine oil pressure switch can be found on top of the engine. The oil pressure switch will be near the intake manifold.
There are sensors inside the trans, outside the trans, and on the engine that will all affect shifting.
