Well the engine doesn't bolt to the transfer case. The engine bolts to the transmission and the transfer case is bolted to the opposit end of the transmission. So, the engine swap should be a simple remove and reinstall operation. Good luck
The transfer case will not bolt to a 2wd transmission.
18mm
The transmission is completely different in these two. The Sidekick has an integral transfer case, the Samurai is divorced (separate) transfer case. Although anything may be possible I have never seen this conversion and it will not 'Bolt' on.
The transfer case fluid on a 1985 Chevy Suburban should come to the bottom of the filler hose. It must be on a level surface to accurate measure fluid levels.
on the rear of the case there is a fluid fill line next to the fill bolt. Remove fill bolt and stick your finger in.
NO way. Not even close.
with bolts and tighten
under the jeep your transfer case remove the bolt with an Allen hole in it with and Allen socket. the fluid should run out of the hole. if you remove the bottom bolt you will drain your transfer case. if you remove the top bolt then you will be able to check it and will not have to refil it.
You will see 2 plugs on transfer case, the lower is to drain, upper is to fill or check level
The side of the transfer case facing rear will have a fill plug about half way up.
1 end fits on the top of the transfer case and the other end JUST clamps onto a bracket that is on the bell housing bolt. It is JUST a vent to release pressure out of the transfer case.
No, there is no place on the back of the transmission to bolt it to.No, there is no place on the back of the transmission to bolt it to.
