What why would you want to put an older motor into a newer car? And are you sure this is from a 1991 sounds like a 1992 motor.

no. the 97 and newer have different sensors and computer. YES, you can. All Toyota S-Series (2S-, 3S-, 4S-, 5S-) motors are essentially interchangable with any other Toyota car/truck that had an S-series from the factory (mounts, transmission bolt pattern ,etc. all the same). The computers and sensors are different as said above, so you will need to get the computer for that specific motor. That's where it gets complicated, as you may need to splice some wires of your harness for everything to work with the new ECU (i.e. insterment panel, lights, etc.). hope that helps.
