no, kia sportage are famous for two relays going bad,the fuel pump relay and main engine relay. They work together and one actually keeps the other one energized. I recomend replace in pairs. Only 16 to 18 bucks each at dealer.

kia sporatges are very reliable,new ones with 100,000 mile warranty ,1995 thru 2001 has the older body style,great care too, 1995 to 2001 get aropund 21 to 22 mph on hwy,18 around town.Older ones had some issuse but those have mostly gone away with 2 recalls and consumer understanding Kia auto 's better. I have 2000 Kia sportage and a 1995 4 wheel drive sporatge ,163,000 on one and 90,000 on the other. 2009 cars are great ! driven several, great gas mileage and more reliable than ever.
