A PCV valve stuck closed will cause rough idle, the MAP sensor (Manifold Absolute Pressure) gets confused from a conflicting signal from the MAF (Mass Air Flow) sensor because of no air entering intake from PCV. Stuck open, no. The vacuum from PCV is supposed to be measured by the MAF, as it is air going in plenum.
A PVC valve is typically bad in a car if a car has an oil leak. Other signs of a bad valve include a collapsed hose and a sludge-like buildup.
PVC valve is bad
1990 Honda accord ex how would you know if idle air control valve is bad?
Yes they can. It can also be a vacuum leak, or defective idle control valve.
if clogged it can cause excessive crankcase pressure create engine oil leaks, saturate oil with combustion fumes (dilute oil) cause idle problems or buzz like crazy at idle. also it can make you fail emissions test at mv inspection
A faulty PCV valve can certainly cause idling problems, especially after the engine has warmed.
start the car and pull the PCV valve out of the valve cover and put your finger over the end of it and see if you feel it sucking.
whete code (Test Server)
With a bad/burned intake valve the engine will idle rough with a skip and lose power. The cylinder in question will test low in compression. If the valve is damaged bad enough the engine will make a popping noise through the carburetor or throttle body especially during acceleration.
Could be you have a bad IAC valve
Yes. Carbon deposits in the EGR valve can cause it to stick open a bit and cause a rough idle. If it is bad enough, the engine will stall out when you slow to a stop.
It is a common suspect in contributing to rough idle. See "Related Questions" below for more about the EGR valve, from testing to replacing.
