No. I've thought that would be obvious. Well, If they're alive and painted, then, OK.

I'm not even sure if unpainted alive ones can either!

I don't know the answer, but the last answer was kind of stupid. The turtle isn't PAINTED with a paintbrush. It's a subspecies of turtles. Just thought that person would like to know. (:

Yes, painted turtles do. They also eat, apples, lettuce, banana, small fish, insects, green beans,carrots, and squash, this is just a few of the things they eat though.

Yes, but don't buy any from the pet store...you know the ones that clean the tank...just go to the store and get you the shrimp that you would get for a shrimp cocktail. Freeze them. It makes less of a mess in the tank and it is easy for the turtle to bit onto, and grip.

Yes they can but you shouldn't feed them just carrots. Try some earth worms and other veggies
