What size engine is in a 1989 Honda Prelude 2.0 si?

should be a b20, (2.0) on the web it says the 89 prelude has a B20A5 in the SI model. dont be get the B20A mixed up with the b20 because the b20 is a civic motor.

Will a 90 Honda Prelude motor fit in an 89 Honda Civic DX?

No, the B20A or B21A motors will not fit into ANY other car than the 88-91 Prelude it was intended for. This is because the engine block was designed to sit at an 18-degree rearward slant in order to clear the low hood-line of the car. So these motors will not work in anything but a 3rd generation Prelude. If you intend to make it work and swap a B20A or B21A motor into a 4th generation Honda Civic then by all means have fun, but it will be neither easy nor cheap to do so because a lot of custom fabrication will be involved. It would be a waste of time and money.

Can you take the engine outof a Honda crv and swap it with a Honda civic engine?

The B20a engine available in a CR-V can be transferred into a Honda Civic. The Civic will require special mounts, harness, and computer to accommodate the larger engine.

B18a1 block with a B16 transmission will it work together?

Will a B21a1 Honda prelude head cilinder fit in a block of B20a?

Yes it will that is my current set up but pretty much pointless unless you plan to turbo no need to modify anything just bolt it on. Reason I say that is because b21a1 head has a larger diameter and b20a smaller therefore more room in the compression which in turn gives you a lower compression from 9:4:1 to about 9:0:1 and if you had a b20a5 it would lower to 8:5:1 But if you had a b21a1 with a b20a head your compression shoots up to 10 which would put your hp around 150

What should the RPM be in a 4-speed automatic Honda Prelude at 75 mph?

2200-2500 rpm if you have overdrive.2500 plus if not. I have a 1989 Honda prelude with a B20A (Similar to the origonal B20A5 engine) with a 5 Speed manual and in overdrive (5th) my rpm's are exactly 1,000 per 20mph. So basically if your going 20 in 5th, ur rpm's will be at 1,000, and so on. 40mph - 2000, 60mph - 3000, 80mph - 4000 and so on. I found that at 130mph it just hits redline at 6750:) dang that cant be good for it My Auto 1992 Prelude Si (H23 motor) does 75mph @ 3000-3100 rpms. The year of your car would help provide a better answer. The first guy's answer is WAY off, at least for the 4th generation ('92-96) and 5th generation ('97-01) Preludes. my 4th gen manual gets 20 mph per 1k rpm in 5th gear. that means at 80 im at 4k rpm. at 70 im at 3500k. ur auto should be a little bit lower but not much i assume. hondas run high rpms so they can have power when needed since they arnt very torquey engines. I don't have an automatic but my 01 manual i think would be around or a bit below 4k
