The average life of an LCD is 6 years. Now this is average. They are too new to know for sure. They rarely burn out, unless they are defective from the start. Unlike an LCD a CRT display starts deteriorating in picture quality from day one and they have an average life of 4 years. That doesn't mean they won't work after 4 years it just means the picture quality is below a certain quality level after 4 years. They can actually work for 10-15 years or more, albeit with a poor picture. An LCD last longer, doesn't loose picture quality, takes up less room, and uses less energy, although they cost more. Weigh these factors before you buy. The prices of LCD are dropping all the time.
OLED TVs have a much shorter lifespan than LCD TVs and may have burn in issues. LCD TVs are a proven technology and are much more reliable at this point.
Yes. I have one and it is the best LCD that I have ever seen and Samsung is terrible.
LED's are usually also LCD's. LED LCD's are usually better as you do not have to worry about the light bulb will not burn out because led's last longer. I would suggest LED LCD's as the lightbulb not burning out will save you some money.
LCD TVs are inexpensive and have great pictures, but don't leave one on the same channel too long. Images can burn in, ruining the picture forever.
LCD technology is not prone to screen "burn-in" or "ghosting" (premature aging of pixel cells) due to the nature of the technologies "twisting crystals." With plasma, static images will begin to "burn-in," or permanently etch the color being displayed into the glass display element. Therefore go for the LCD TV Panel.
Plasma, plasma can have the "burn in screen" but so can lcd, lcd is actually more likely to burn in that a plasma, now the whole picture wont burn in but each individual pixel will, For Plasma TVs, the advantages over LCD, are: Better contrast ratio, better ability to render deep blacks, more color depth, better motion tracking (response time), and more availability in very large screen sizes.
Don't ever buy a tv you can't pronounce. This is why, they break faster and everything.
In general, I would recommend LCD for gaming. Although burn-in is mainly a thing of the past, "image persistance" from health bars and the like is still a problem.
This subject has alot of debate but research of owners opinions shows that LCD screens are getting better reviews. Plasma's are still very vulnerable to damage if bumped and burn in on the screen.
An LCD panel is actually a LCD screen that is part of your computer monitor or LCD Television. There are different types of screens such as plasma as well, but to answer your question, an LCD panel is the LCD screen on your monitor or television (provided it is an LCD model).
Walmart and Target have fair priced lcd tvs. The prices have recently reduced due to the ever changing technology. HDTVs are a great TV but also remember size makes all the difference when comparing prices.
It depends on the size of the LCD Panel and the audio power on the LCD TV.
