Will the Automatic transmission from a 1994 Chevy Blazer fit into a 1996 GMC Jimmy?
Yes the 1994 trans will physically bolt up to the jimmy engine. Unfortunately, the electronic transmission controls for the two vehicles are very different and are not compatible.
1993 was the first year the automatics used the electronic 4L60E transmission. Any 1993 - up Blazer/Bravada/Jimmy/S10/S15 automatic transmission should do.
A concurrent Pontiac Firebird, Chevy S-10/GMC S-15, Chevy S-10 Blazer/GMC S-15 Jimmy should also work.
No it will not. The design of the 2002 Transmission is different.
Yes, a 2000 GMC Jimmy hood is compatible to a 2000 Chevy Blazer. This is only on the S10 Blazer though.
should be..... a jimmy is a blazer with a GMC label on it
All the V6-powered vehicles of the Gen II (1994 - 2005) GT325 platform vehicles (S10, S15, Blazer, Bravada, Jimmy) have the 4L60E automatic or the NV3500 manual transmission.
What type transmission does an 2000 gmc jimmy have and what would other year jimmy or blazer trans. would match up?
The transmission type is 4L60E
You use automatic transmission fluid.
Yes, 96-7 are interchangable.
NO. In late 1999 Chevy redesigned The ENGINES and TRANSMISSIONS. You must put the new designed 4L60E back in the 01. Nothing lower then late 1999 will interchange with it.
In 1969. It was also called the "GMC Jimmy".
Windshields from 83-94 S-model Blazer/Jimmy and 83-93 S10/S15's are all the same. NO, AN 84 JIMMY/BLAZER IS A FULL SIZE TRUCK. ALL S10/S15S ARE MID SIZE TRUCKS.

The S10 Blazer, the S10 pickup, the GMC Sonoma, the GMC Jimmy, the Oldsmobile Bravada.
NO it will not. The bell housing are different and you can not change them.
A fair number of parts will be compatible. Some will not be - for example, if you want to put a 98+ front end on a 94 - 97 Blazer, you'll need the core support from a 98+ Blazer, Jimmy, Bravada, S10, or S15. If you have sealed beam headlights (most commonly seen on 2WD 94 - 97 models), you'll need the wiring harnesses for the lights, as well.
The basic piece is the same but there will be different trim pieces attached that you will need to remove.
The GMC version called the K5 Jimmy did have a 400 in 1975-80. Chevrolet no.
90% of the parts from any 1982 to 1993 Chevy S-10 or GMC S-15 (Sonoma). 85% of the parts from any 1982 to 1993 Chevy S-10 Blazer, or S-15 Jimmy

A flexplate is used in automatic transmissions while a flywheel is used in manual transmissions. The 2000 GMC Jimmy SLS appears to have a manual transmission, so it uses a flywheel.

Automatic trans should be dexron 3. If in doubt look in the owners manual, call the dealer or check with your local parts store.
Automatic transmision fluid gets poured down the dipstick tube. Manual transmissions get filled through the fill plug in the side of the case.
To test a crankshaft position sensor on a 1996 Jimmy Blazer, use a CKP sensor to test for voltage output. Compare the results to manufacturer specifications.
