Will the throttle postition sensor cause the 1992 Chevy 1500 5.7 liter not to crank when hot?
A bad TPS might cause the engine to not fire up during cranking. But not crank? Nope.
What are the symptoms of failing throttle position sensor in Mitsubishi Mirage Car will not idle when warm.?
The possibilities can be many. It can range from a malfunctuioning fuel pump, to a bad throttle position sensor, to faulty fuel injectors. First I would check the throttle position sensor since this is the cheapest part, and also the easiest to replace. The throttle position sensor tells the computer how much air and fuel to put in the engine. If it is messed up it can cause hesitation, stalling, transmission buckoing, etc...
If it is an 3.7L or 4.7L engine it is on the throttle body mounted on the side. If it is a hemi engine there are two throttle position sensors. The throttle body is electronic. There is a position sensor mounted underneath the battery hidden behind a cover. The accelerator cable goes from the gas pedal to this sensor. This sensor sends info to the PCM (powertrain control mondule). There is also another position sensor…
A sensor has failed, and is reporting the wrong value to the transmission controller. Old transmissions: Probably the vacuum modulator or throttle position sensor. Also check the fluid level. New Transmissions: Output speed sensor, turbine speed sensor, throttle-position sensor, fluid pressure sensor, and sensors on the engine.
The throttle position sensor (TPS) keeps the PCM informed about throttle position. The PCM uses this input to change spark timing and the fuel mixture as engine load changes. A problem here can cause a flat spot during acceleration (like a bad accelerator pump in a carburetor) as well as other drivability complaints. the throttle position sensor (tps) tells the computer where you have your foot while driving ( half throttle or quarter ect.)
If that's going on there is some kind of malfunction somewhere. Check for a dirty air filter, sticking TBI injector, faulty throttle position sensor or possibly some other sensor failure. New answer; Need to check the fuel pressure regurlator. A shorted or grounded Coolant sensor can cause it to run rich. MAP sensor can cause it to run rich also. Hope we both helped.
