Depends on it's engine. But the max speed possible with the 4WD [Selectable between 2WD, 4WD/AUTO, and 4WD/LOW] transmission is around 110MpH. It's not recommended to hold that speed, as the transmission will slip and possibly damage it's self.
A 1987 4-speed ford ranger with over drive is a 4wd and not 2wd.
The proceedure depends on whether the truck is 2WD or 4WD. I just removed the 5-speed from my 1993 Ranger Splash 4WD two times last week. I have it down to about a 4 hour job now.
The part is called the Gearshift Selector Bushing.
I am converting a ford ranger automatic (a4ld) transmission 4wd to a 5 speed manual from a 4 cylinder ford ranger. Will it work. What is needed?
Automatic trannys are different. The tail shaft on a 2wd tranny is different than a 4wd because of the transfercase. If in fact the 2wd manual tranny does not fit a 4wd you can always change the tail shaft to make it work.
Not a chance.
( Motorcraft MERCON V ) automatic transmission fluid according to the 1998 Ford Ranger owners manual
On the 1999 Chevy Silverado Z71 4WD, the speed sensor is part of a module. It is located next to the transmission housing.
In the rear passenger side wheel assembly.
in the glove box
If it is 4WD it will be on the output housing (rear) of the transfer case. If not 4wd it will be on the output of the transmission. Typically has two wire connector.
