If you mean as pairs, yes.

put an 8 Ohm and a 16 Ohm speaker in parallel for each channel. The 16 Ohm speakers will take 1/3 the power and the 8 Ohm speakers will take 2/3 the power. The resulting impedance will be 5.33 Ohms.

What is a subwafer loudspeaker?

A sub-woofer is a loudspeaker that produces extreme low tones that other speakers cannot

Can you wire a 4 ohm 500 watt sub woofer in parallel with a 4 ohm resistor to get 300 watts out of your 75 x 2 bridged amp would this effect sound quality what wattage of resistor?

This would have 2 effects:Cause an impedance mismatch between the amp and the speaker.Draw more current from the amp, possibly overloading & damaging it.Neither is desirable.

What is a 2 channel amplifier?

A 2 channel aplifier is an amplifier that can operate two channels. It is basically two 1-channel amplifiers in a single box. This unit is usually intended for operating a left speaker and a right speaker. A channel is the signal/power combination intended for one specific speaker. A 'Stereo' audio system typically has a left channel and a right channel. More advanced audio systems may have separate channels for different types of speakers (midrange, woofer, tweeter, very commonly subwoofer, sometimes supertweeter) or for rear channels (surround.) This sort of setup was modern during the early 90s. A bridged 2 channel amplifier is constructed in such a way that the amplifiers can be set up to operate inline providing the effect of a more powerful one-channel amplifier. If durability is a concern, a bridgeable two channel amplifier used for two channels tends to work well because it's likely to have higher quality or just more diodes so as not to be destroyed too quickly during bridged operation. Using a more powerful amplifier with the gain turned down is also a good idea if longevity is a concern.

Can active speakers be used with an amplifier?

Yes, there are many types and models of amplifiers. Some have built in LINE OUT options and others require work. Active speakers are just speakers with their own built in amplifiers that supply power only to their own speakers or additional Sub Woofer. With some Guitar AMPS it is necessary to daisy chain (Think Jimmy Hendrix) the input jacks from one amplifier and bridge the guitar signal from one channel to the input of the second amplifier via a jumper cable. Phase (Timing of the speakers) becomes a challenge or in Hendrix case an asset, but it works. When you have only one channel jack and no Line Out options you can simply MIC the speakers of the first Amp and play the sound through a second (PA) amp.

Why does a crossover make a woofer and a tweeter sound better than just sending the full audio spectrum to both speakers?

The crossover sends only bass tones to the woofer, and only treble tones to the tweeter. The woofer does not have to try and reproduce high tones accurately - which it cannot (they would be muffled), and the tweeter does not have to try and reproduce bass tones (which it cannot at all.) The sound is much more even and balanced.

What is the purpose of a woofer?

A woofer is the part of a loudspeaker designed to produce low frequency sounds and its name comes from the sound a dog makes. This is complemented by and contrasts with a 'tweeter' which produces the high frequency sounds.
