No! Everyone on a diet reach their own plateau. It will kick in again. Women require 1200 calories a day to be healthy and exercise is a must! If you don't use it you lose it and that includes the heart. If you exercise then you know muscle weighs more than fat, but what many people don't realize is when they pack on the required amount of muscle for their body size they look great and even though they hoped to be approx. 120 lbs. - 150lbs. for a woman, and may be 135 lbs. or 180 lbs. take a look at the muscle. Muscle need not bulge! It makes the person look lean and mean. LOL

Don't take this the wrong way, but the question here should be how quickly will i end up in hospital if i do this?

The human body needs certain things to stay alive, regular exercise, balanced diet, and around 2000 calories a day for a woman and 2500 calories a day for a man.

Taking on 800 calories a day will lead to poor health, as at this level of calorie intake the body will literally start to eat itself in an effort to maintain its health. For a week or two you will lose weight, but after that, your body will deteriorate, and start to destroy itself.

If you don't believe me, look on Google or the wikipedia for Karen Carpenter, and see where starving yourself gets you.

Seriously don't do it, there are a lot easier, and less painful ways to kill yourself.

Is it possible to lose weight without being on a diet?

Does exercise lead to weight loss?

Actually... Exercise leads to being fit. When you exercise your muscles get ready for work. Exercise causes the muscles to become more active in general and when they get into that state they naturally need more nutrients. Being FIT leads to weight loss. While pounding away on a treadmill for 30 minutes may not burn many calories, it DOES cause the muscles to start getting serious. You'll burn extra calories for a few hours after exercise, so in effect the answer is, "yes". But it takes an indirect route.

Why have you not lost weight even though you work out?

In most cases where a person is not losing weight, with exercise, can lie on the design of their Exercise and Diet Regiment. Here are two examples why an improper Exercise and Diet Regiment can be the cause.Example of an improper diet being the cause of no weight lost:A person that is over weight considerably, can show a reduction of weight lost if the the designed exerciser and diet helps in the reduction of fatty tissue. If the over weight person's exercise burns a lot of calories, the diet may be adding those calories back and then some.Example of an improper exercise being the cause of no weight lost:If the person is considered slightly over weight, they may not see an adverse effect of losing weight. They may be reducing the fatty tissue weight but at the same time, building muscle mass which can add weight. This is not a bad thing but if the goal is to lose weight, you would have to find a more suitable exercise which will lose more fatty tissue and build less muscle mass.

Use Calorie Restriction to Lose Weight?

Although many products, foods, pills, and exercise machines are advertised as being the solution to your weight loss problem, the bottom line is that in order to lose weight, you must burn more calories than you consume. Because of this, calorie restriction can be a helpful tool for people who need to lose weight. However, it is important not to restrict calories too much, or you will put your body in starvation mode, making weight loss more challenging. Try to reduce your caloric intake by 500 or even 1,000 calories per day, depending on your weight and gender. Restrict you calories to this amount to lose anywhere from 1-2 pounds each week in a healthy way.

What is Normal Weight Loss?

For many people, weight loss is viewed as something that should happen quickly. However, studies show that the slower you take off the weight, the better chance you have of keeping it off for good. Normal weight loss is defined as between 1/2 pound and 2 pounds per week, depending on your size and how much weight you have to lose. For 2 pounds of weight loss each week, you need consume 7,000 fewer calories each week. An easy way to do this is to reduce daily food intake by 500 calories daily, and then exercise an additional 500 calories daily.

How can you lose 15 pounds in 2 weeks if you are 5'2'' and weigh 140 pounds?

You can't. OK look. Your BMR (basal metabolic rate), which is how many calories you burn just being alive is ~1440 a day. Give or take depending on many many things. The big factor is muscle/fat ratio. More muscle means a higher ratio, more fat means lower. 1 lb of weight = 3,500 calories 15 lb of weight = 52,500 calories Now let's say you're fairly active and are the standard person who needs 2,000 calories total to maintain weight. This assumes that you do activities throughout the day that burn ~560 calories. This would probably require exercise. This means that if you STARVED YOURSELF for two weeks you would burn only 28,000 calories (aka 8 pounds). And this is presuming your body doesn't adapt (which it will) and go into survival mode, leaving you feeling sluggish and keeping your body from losing weight. Thus you would have to exercise to up your metabolism and lose the leftover 24,500 calories. You would have to then lose 1,750 calories for every single day of those two weeks. And since one hour of STRENUOUS exercise (and I mean out-of-breath, can't speak, feel like death exercise) would lose you 400 calories max, you would have to exercise for 4 hours and 23 minutes (strenuously) every day. Along with not eating. At all. Not to mention that as you lose weight, your BMR is going to go down. And it will take more exercise to lose one pound. You can't do it. Don't do it. It's a bad idea. What you CAN do: Take your time. Try to make exercise and not eating so much every day a habit of yours. Go ahead and tell people you're on a diet and exercising. It's tough and everyone knows it. If they mock you or anything, they're worthless and their opinion is void. Losing weight takes time and commitment and it is a commendable effort. Trying to starve yourself and lose the pounds will only hurt you in the long run, and when you try to start eating again, what little food you consume will add pounds extremely quickly. So just take it slow. 15 pounds is a LOT of weight at your size. 5 pounds alone would be a huge change. You'll be able to see it. And don't be foiled when some 240 pounder loses 15 pounds super quick. They may lose those initial pounds faster, but they have a loooong way to go. Best of luck. Take care of yourself!

What is the daily healthy calorie intake of a thirty eight year old female weighing 260 pounds and being 5 feet and 4 inches tall that is sedentary?

Maintenance: 2216 Calories/day Weight loss: 2080 Calories/day

How many calories should a Fifty year old man of five foot eleven inches weighing two hundred five pounds consume?

I calculated, using the Harris-Benedict equation that you need to consume about 2340 calories per day to maintain your weight. This is assuming that you are most sedentary, meaning you do little or no exercise. If you are a little bit more active than that (light exercise and activity a few days a week) it would be more like 2500 calories. If neither of those fit your description, use a search engine and search "BMR" or "Harris Benedict equation" and you should be able to calculate for yourself. Obviously, the more active you are the more calories you burn per day. If you are trying to lose weight, this could mean being able to eat more calories!
